County Road 25 (Blyth Rd) Closed Between Cemetery Line & Currie Line

Commencing May 13, 2024 and continuing until June 7, 2024, County Road 25 (Blyth Road) will be closed between Cemetery Line and Currie Line for reconstruction of an underground tunnel for the G2G Trail. 

No emergency access. 

Please follow the detour route; no through traffic. Detour route: London Road at Queen Street, to Londesboro Main Street, to Londesboro Road, to Baseline, to Maitland Terrace, to Blyth Road. 

Local traffic only, access to properties within the closure will be maintained. 

Service Line Warranties of Canada Mailing

In the next few weeks, Municipality of Central Huron homeowners will receive a mailing from Service Line Warranties of Canada about homeowners’ responsibility to maintain the service lines connecting their home to the Municipalities water and sewer system.
This mailing includes information about an optional exterior water or sewer service line repair plan that will help shield residents from the financial shock of an unexpected repair.

The G2G Rail Trail, with support from Huron County, is planning to restore a tunnel under County Road 25, west of Blyth to improve the safety and accessibility of our trail.

Condolences for Bert Dykstra, former Central Huron Councillor, Reeve, and Huron County Warden

The Staff and Council of the Municipality of Central Huron were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former Reeve Bert Dykstra, who served over twenty years in municipal government. 

Bert was a Councillor in the 1990s for the former Goderich Township before being sworn-in as the newly amalgamated Central Huron's Deputy Reeve in 2000. From 2003 to 2010, he served as Reeve for the Municipality of Central Huron and also served as Warden for the County of Huron in 2010.
