Public Notice of Pesticide Use

The Municipality of Central Huron intends to control noxious weeds along the following municipal roadsides through spot spraying where noxious weeds have been identified:

Sandhill Line – Hullett-McKillop Road to County Road 25
Limekiln Line – County Road 8 to County Road 25
Dutch Line – County Road 8 to County Road 25
Cemetery Line – County Road 25 to County Road 4
Alboro Line – Country Road 15 to County Road 25
Wildlife Line – Highway 8 to Summerhill Road
Bandon Line – Summerhill Road to County Road 25
Burns Line – Summerhill Road to County Road 25
Front Road – Highway 8 to Hydro Line Road
Sanctuary Line – Highway 8 to Hydro Line Road
Harlock Line – County Road 15 to County Road 25
Hydro Line Road – County Road 8 to Division Line
Conservation Line – County Road 8 to Wildlife Line
Bridge Road – County Road 15 to Division Line
Summerhill Road – County Road 8 to Division Line
Winthrop Road – County Road 8 to County Road 15
Hullett-McKillop Road – County Road 8 to Division Line
Division Line – County Road 17 to Country Road 25

Anyone not wishing to have the roadside adjacent to their property treated for noxious weeds should contact Angela Turczyn at the Municipality of Central Huron at 519-482-3997 extension 1235.

All locations where herbicides will be applied are in rural areas along a highway in which the public has general right of access but the application does not include any area intended for pedestrian access nor areas where the public is invited to stop such as rest areas or picnic areas.

Noxious weeds identified along the right-of-way locations noted above will spot sprayed using the herbicides:

ClearView Herbicide containing the active ingredients: Aminopyralid, present as potassium salt and Metsulfuron – methyl Registration Number 29752 under the Pest Control Products Act
Hasten NT Ultra Spray Adjuvant containing Methyl and ethyl oleate (esterified vegetable oil) Registration Number 31760 under the Pest Control Products Act.
Truvist Herbicide containing Chlorsulfuron and Aminocylopyrachlor Registration Number 30920 under the Pest Control Products Act.

Note: it is the responsibility of the property owner requesting no spray to contact the above each calendar year prior to the application of weed spray. Property owners requesting no spray will be responsible for all noxious weeds on the road allowance adjacent to their property.

We are controlling Noxious Weeds under Public Works Exception of the Cosmetic Pesticides Ban to the promotion of public health and safety.

Commencing May 25, 2021, weather permitting, and ending approximately July 7, 2021.
