Each year, Central Huron residents look forward to the opening of the Clinton Public Pool during the summer months. During a mandatory inspection in 2021 at the Clinton Public Pool, performed by the Huron Perth Public Health unit, numerous issues were highlighted that would prevent future pool openings without repair. The principal issue is the cement pool deck settling in various locations, and due to both the replacement cost and the age of the plumbing infrastructure underneath the pad, the direction of the project was heading towards full replacement.

Due to the costs involved, the municipality asked for public input regarding the project and the potential impact to taxation rates.
